The Institute for Open Social Analytics (IOSA) is an independent, self-funded research project with no profit purpose, measuring public social media metrics against each channel's own statistical baseline. Trend data is open access. Optional commemorative items fund our servers, API quota and development. IOSA is fully independent and is not affiliated, endorsed, associated, or partnered with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), or Meta.

TRANSPARENT SAMPLING METHODOLOGY
Rotating sample across 34 countries and 15 categories
1. Global Video Ingestion
Each cycle scans the trending Shorts of three countries and one category, rotating across 34 countries and 15 categories, via the official YouTube Data API v3.
2. VPI Outlier Filtering
Only videos that outperform their own channel baseline are indexed, so a small creator and a large one are measured on the same scale.
